FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MOURN DEATH OF 13-YEAR-OLD AND FATHER CRITICAL

A Mt. Brydges family and community reeling after a 13-year-old passed away and a father in critical condition following an accident Saturday afternoon. Strathroy-Caradoc Police tell us that the accident occurred on Glendon Drive Saturday around 1:30pm just west of Parkhouse Drive. Police, Strathroy-Caradoc Fire and EMS responded to what was a two vehicle collision. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, the young passenger in one of the vehicles was transported by land ambulance to London Health Sciences Centre with critical injuries. The
adult male driver of the same vehicle was transported to London Health Sciences Center by air ambulance with critical injuries. The young passenger was pronounced deceased at hospital, and identified as 13-year-old Avery Kernaghan, of Mt. Brydges, Avery was the passenger of the car being driven by her father 47-year-old Douglas Kernaghan who is in critical condition. Reports indicate both were on their way to a skating event at the Komoka Wellness Centre. The Strathroy-Caradoc Police are still investigating this collision and if anyone with information regarding this collision, please call the Police.
