12/5/2017 11:02:06 AM

Robbery locally with a very happy ending. Strathroy-Caradoc Police say on Sunday just before 2:30pm, Police responded to an incident on Metcalfe Street involving the theft of a bicycle. A young boy was riding his bicycle on Metcalfe Street near Head Street when he was accosted by 2 males who pushed him off his bicycle and stole it from him. The suspects were described as both white males in their teens, one was wearing a dark hoodie and had medium length straight dark hair that covered his ears. The other suspect had long curly dark hair to his shoulders, he was also wearing a dark hoodie. The criminal code classifies a theft with violence as a robbery, and the Strathroy-Caradoc Police would like to hear from anyone who has information about this crime. The good news part of the story is the boy's mother contacted myFM saying that a girl named Julie heard about the robbery and wanted to help. Julie lost her younger brother Traves in August to a car accident, and in his always generous spirit, she wanted to "pay it forward," knowing that's what he would have done. So this morning, they went to see Julie and she surprised the boy with her bike, complete with a bow on the front.
If you have any information regarding this robbery please contact Police.
