Junior B hockey may be coming to Komoka as early as next season if the stars align. myFM learned Tuesday that Middlesex Centre Municipal staff and the Lambton Shores Junior B Predators are currently discussing a possible team move to the Middlesex Centre Wellness and Recreation Complex in Komoka. Director of Community Services Scott Mairs says they lost a non-affiliated Junior A team this year causing a vacancy and it didn't take long for three teams to come calling, the Predators as well as both the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs and Lambeth Lancers of the Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League. He says each Club applied to the OHA and all were initially given approval by the OHA to potentially move.

President, owner and general manager of the Predators, Roop Chanderdat believes a move to Komoka will be positive for his organization due to location, growing population and the facility is also home to the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs AAA Hockey which is a good fit for the Junior B team to continue to develop local hockey talent. Final approval with regard to any agreement between the Predators and Middlesex Centre will be made by Middlesex Centre Council at its June 21st meeting.
