There is going to be some work done to Strathroy-Caradoc's Municipal building finally after being delayed for over a year but it will cost more than originally planned. During the 2016 Capital Budget deliberations, Council approved $100,000 for the restoration of the Bell Tower on top of the Municipal building. Town Staff created a scope of work based on preliminary estimates, a tender was issued but that tender came back with a cost outside the budgeted amount so the project was pushed back a year. Director of Parks and Recreation Rob Lilbourne says this time around some added work was allocated to the project.

Lilbourne says they reached out to Form-A-Fence, a local company that specializes in this type of construction and the use of PVC material and within the approved 2017 Capital Budget amount of $150,000. Council approved the awarding of the project to Form-A-Fence for a value of $93,315 plus HST, plus a 15% contingency for any unforeseen issues or hidden conditions. The target timeline is July 1st to coincide with our nation's 150th birthday.
