TOWN TALKS ORGANIC WASTE
3/20/2017 8:26:23 AM

With Earth Day quickly approaching in April, many people are asking what they can and cannot recycle. Currently, Strathroy-Caradoc does not allow items like coffee grinds, eggshells, and banana peels to be recycled, but the Municipality also does not have an organic waste program. Strathroy-Caradoc Director of Building, Planning and Waste Services, Matthew Stephenson explains why currently the municipality does not have an organic waste program.

Stephenson says the Municipality does offer a green cone digester that goes 2 feet into the ground which organic waste can be put into instead of landfills. He says the cones provide no smell and also look good on a property. For more information or to purchase a green cone visit strathroy-caradoc.ca.
