The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police is doing a public campaign called Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda, and the focus is on the ten most likely crimes or situations where victimization can occur. OPP Media Relations Officer Jamie Stanley says simple steps can be taken to enhance the security of your property and prevent becoming the victim of a crime, adding that crime prevention is everyone's business. Stanley says the Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda campaign focuses on ten areas including cyber crimes, and theft of prescriptions.

Other potential crimes that can cause victimization include: break and enters, impaired driving, fraud, theft from vehicles, theft of bicycles, theft from garages, and raising awareness of surroundings to prevent assaults. Stanley says preventing crimes from happening in the first place makes communities safer and also helps deter criminal activity. More information and other tips can be found at oacp.on.ca.
