Special recognitions went out at last week's Strathroy-Caradoc Police Services Meeting. The board recognized some personnel for years of service including former Police Chief Laurie Hayman who was given a 30 year Police Exemplary Service Bar. She says it was nice to back for that.

IMPAIRED DRIVER 402

Impaired Driver, On May 13th around 2:30am, OPP responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the live lane of the 402's Hickory Drive westbound on ramp without its lights on. Officers determined that the 28-year-old male driver of the white Dodge pickup truck had been drinking alcohol.

WIDDER STATION HOSTING FIRST STOP ON MYFM GOLF TOUR WEDNESDAY

Widder Station Golf Course in Thedford is our first stop on the 2017 myFM Summer Golf Tour starting tomorrow. Aaron Brooks, the director of golf at Widder Station says they have wide fairways and soft receptable greens to lure golfers in.

OPP DRIVE SAFE CAMPAIGN ON NOW

OPP have launched its Share the Road Drive Safe campaign. They're reminding drivers of a couple of things to keep themselves and others safe on the road. Police want people to be aware of Ontario's "Move Over" legislation, which requires drivers to pull over to allow emergency vehicles to get by.

SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO MALE FACING 14 CHARGES

A search warrant on the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation resulted in cars being seized and a male facing 14 charges. Earlier this month (May 8) multiple police units executed a search warrant at a Jubilee Road residence. Police seized a number of motor vehicles and parts.

Today is IBD Day and President of the Strathroy Affiliate of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation Kevin Eagleson says it's not a popular subject. He says just because it's a taboo subject doesn't mean you shouldn't talk about it.
